Dock Technical details
Notes on communication variants:
The available communication options are determined by the scanner model and loaded firmware and software, this is not a function of the dock itself as it merely acts as a pass-through gateway.
USB-VCP
As the limitation of supported Virtual Communication Ports is determined by each individual PC and Operating System we can not warrant the amount of ports that will have successful communication through these docks!
USB-HID
By design USB-HID emulates keyboard input and should be manually limited to one scanner transmitting data at a time!
Several scanner models, like the OPN-3002/OPN-4000, only support USB-HID at the moment. New functionality like USB-VCP communication will only become available if Opticon releases new firmware that supports this.
- USB-HID
- USB-VCP
A generic Windows Plug & Play USB hub driver is needed and will be installed automatically upon connection.
The PC also needs the appropriate driver(s) for the OPN's connected to communicate (Opticon USB driver installer)
