The DOKKi Frame System

Special functions via OPN-2001 buttons
The OPN-2001 has many features and options. Most of them need to be set through settings-barcodes or through software commands with for instance, the Companion Application.
However, not everybody is aware that a couple of special functions can be activated through the 2 buttons on the OPN-2001. Sometimes even by accident, causing the operator to think the scanner is faulty or broken. We have had reports on scanners not reading barcodes, or beepers malfunctioning and in many case this can be caused by accidental mis-settings. We'll shine a light on these mysteries and here's what the buttons do:
Upgrading firmware makes sense as new firmware versions normally have optimizations, added functionality and also possible bug fixes. In some cases new firmware is also necessary to support new/upgraded hardware parts found new hardware revisions.
With the introduction of the latest version of Opticon's CRD-1006 cradle the settings DIP-switch has been replaced by a settings menu (from serial number 16901 and up).
Although the partnumber and itemnumber haven't changed, there has been a (minor) hardware modification to the CRD-1006. From the second half of November 2018 the latest version of the Opticon CRD-1006 cradle comes without the DIP-switch in the bottom.
