The Opticon L50C is a powerful linear CCD Imager which smoothly reads all common 1D barcodes with a rate of 300 scans per second, including high resolution barcodes.

The Opticon L-50 is characterized by a sophisticated ergonomic design and a unique ‘custom logo display area’. The scanner comes with an adjustable stand which makes this hand scanner very functional as a desk or counter scanner. The scanner is available in black and white. USB (HID), RS232 or Keyboard Wedge can be chosen as a communication interface.

IP Ratings (Ingress Protection)
A two-digit number established by the International Electro Technical Commission, is used to provide an Ingress Protection rating to a piece of electronic equipment or to an enclosure for electronic equipment.
The protection class after EN60529 are indicated by short symbols that consist of the two code letters IP and a code numeral for the amount of the protection.
Example: IP65 (NEMA 4)
The two digits represent different forms of environmental influence:
• The first digit represents protection against ingress of solid objects.
• The second digit represents protection against ingress of liquids.
The larger the value of each digit, the greater the protection. As an example, a product rated IP54 would be better protected against environmental factors than another similar product rated as IP42.

USB-HID
HID = Human Input Device ; output emulated like a keyboard.
The data is entered at the point of the cursor or current focus (in a form).
Language and keyboard selection need to match between scanner and host!
USB-VCP
VCP = Virtual Comm Port ; output is send to the assigned comm port.
In most cases a driver is neccessary!
USB-MSD
MSD = Mass Storage Device ; emulates storage like an USB-stick.
Plugging in the device in this mode makes the devices' internal storage directly accessible from your host.
In general in Windows you will see a pop-up/notification of a drive letter that has been mounted.
USB-OTG
OTG = On The Go ; enables the USB port to act as a host on PDA's/smartphones and tablets, allowing input from a keyboard.
The data is entered at the point of the cursor or current focus (in a form).
Language and keyboard selection need to match between scanner and host!

Wired Ethernet connection via DHCP or Fixed IP.

Communication through Microsoft ActiveSync.

Communication through the wired direct RS232 protocol.
